I have a cory with this weird thing on its left fin. some sort of lump thing...
and my clown loach has something with its tail, some sort of attached????. I believe they are completely unrelated to the Ich I and working on as they were there before it and still are there now more than a week later
here are some pics......

I'm wondering if the loach injured its tail and it "might" be Sap?

I know how to treat that having a 1500 gallon koi pond out back

This is the goldfish from my pond who must of been hiding for a while because one day I saw him like this
Believe it or not I treated and healed that fish and still have it 3 years later...My story and pics were in some magazine, forget which one,,, but it was pretty bad as you can see, so if you ever need to treat a bad case of SAP ,, I'm your guy...lol

I'm not too sure as i have never seen it in person, I have 4 clown loaches. But it looks to me like it might be fin rot. Keep a close eye on it! I also have two ponds on our property that we keep koi in, one 25000gal and one 500gal. Hope you get your answer soon! Sorry i cant help more

Sometimes fish get nipped and the wounds look a bit like that - but clear up after a good couple of big water changes. I hope that's it, but you could treat with a 'fungus and finrot' treatment to be sure.

I've never seen/heard of SAP before, that poor fishy! What is it? ETA I have just worked out you mean saprolegnia, a fungus med should also help this if that is what it is?

yes saprolegnia ..... sorry

I had to treat it by catching it,, scraping off all the green(algae, which collects on the sap) with a credit card and used a q-tip and malachite green directly daily for a week then once a week and it was gone, lucky fish...

Thanks for the compliment Ralphw62. And remember with clown loaches they are scaless fish, so they are very sensitive to any treatments you put in the tank.

I think for most you would be ok doing half doses, but i would double check with someone who knew more about them

thanks,,, I got my eye in it very close for any changes for the worse

well I have been treating for ICH for a week. now although the ich is close to being eradicated... the 2 spots on these 2 fish are getting smaller. I'mm wondering if I should keep treating for ich(this stuff treats other things) till those spots are gone... or at aleast keep my eye on them... i hate to prolong the ich attack and high temps, but if its some other disease this stuff treats I would do it...mannn decisions decisions
