Hi i have 2 guppies 1 yellow 1 blue a glass cat fish and am going to get some more fish this weekend. It is a comunity tank and is 2ft tall and 1.5 ft wide. How many can i get? and what fish would you reccomend would like some colour.

Sorry am a newbie to fish and could do with your advice

Its hexagonal so 1.5 depth 1.5width and 2ft tall does this help ?? Sorry for missing it off :*)

Oh, it's hexigonal? That would be harder to calculate gallons with my formula. Do you remember how many gallons it is?
The general rule is 1 inch of fish per 1 u.s. gallon

I don't know i'm affraid i brought it from a mate and he didn't know either !

Do you know what make it is? Maybe you could figure out the size by checking the manufacturer's web site.

All Glass makes a hexagon tank that measures 23 l x 20 w x 24 h. That tank is 35 gallons. SeaClear has a hexagonal tank that measures 18 w by 23 h, which is also close to your dimensions. That tank is 34 gallons. I imagine your tank is around the same capacity.

It is clearseal just checked and can't find it on the site

So going on seaclear's dimensions how many fish do you think would be suitable ? And types. ?

What kind of lighting do you have? Do you have real plants, sand?
I think glass catfish are shoalers so I would go with 3 more to start with for the first week or two.

Answer the above questions and I will be able to help you some more :D
