Hey, i have a 40 gallon tank and need plants suggestions for the background, middle and foreground..... I started planting without a nutrient rich subtrate thats why i need plants that will work well with liquid nutrient rich ferts....I have some hardy plants in there such as bunches of bacopa, java moss and an anubias which dont reallly require a nutrient rich plant subtrate...i am planning on getting a single floating plant (anyone have experiences with them, what are they like??).....
So to the question....does anyone have suggestions for background, middle, and foreground plants that will work well with only liquid ferts added to my 36 by 14 wide by 18 inch tall tank.....If i am really limited, i will buy some nutrient rich blocks and add them to the roots of any plants that require nutrients to be taken from there roots....So any plant suggestions, welcome....
Thankyou in advance.... :)
P.S. lighting will be increased and CO2 might be added eventually and thje only reason that i dont want to add the subtrate now is that i dont want to stress the plants and fish tank inhabitants by stripping it down.....Nutrient blocks will be bought instead...

Could try swords and vals at the back and crypts at the mid to foreground. But both would appreciate the fert blocks for sure.

BTW have you got you're anubias in the substrate? It needs to be attached to something really for will root in the substrate.

Hey, ye, the anubias is attached to driftwood, same as the moss...The only thing attached to the gravel is the bunches of bacopa and the remainder of my moss ball....I have provided you and anyone with a picture of my tank with the background removed....and suggestions still welcome on the positioning of the plants and the driftwood and as well as suggestions for any other plants that would look good with my present tank...
Thankyou once again....

Hey.....just to let you know, the pic above is out of date lol....because i just bout 3 bunches of ambulia place 5cm apart from each other at the back of the tank.....The pic is shown below...
P.S. I am waiting for my ambulia to grow up and spread their leaves out more so i can fully see my the plant at its best.....hopefully it will grow reasonably well.....I am thinking of adding more stem plants at the back on the left of my bacopa and foreground plants in front of the ambulia just to get me started....do you think this is a good idea?? any ideas and suggestions still welcome...thanks again.

Looks good, think you need more plants in there, which is an obvious thing to say but it might just be a case of try loads and see which ones grow, as every tank is different.

Where you based?
