Need Information For Guppies

Hello, I have several feeder guppies that were given to me about 2 years ago. About 2 months ago, I noticed all but 2 were starting to get big bellies and have the black area near the anal fin. I thought they were pregnant. SO far, no fry have been born and 2 of the fish have died. THey just keep getting bigger and bigger. The one that died yesterday looked like something (fry) came out of the abdomen were the black area was or like the other fish were biting at that area. Anyway, I probed the fish with a Q-tip on the abdomen and alot of fluid was released, no dead fry. I have never had this type of problem with my fish and I have had fish for 20 years plus. Does anyone know what this is and how to I treat it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Besides the guppies (which are huge about 2 1/2 inches long) I have 6 other fish of different types in the tank, it is a 40 gallon tank. Thanks again, Lolo
