I have a chance to buy a second hand tank

is a jewel 100cm (l) 40 cm (w) 52cm (h)

comes with a black wood stand with doors etc and air pumps heater, hoover, spare filter pads

Is this worth £80 sterling

That would probably be something like 25 gallons? So yes, 80 quid is a good price.

a good rule of thumb is £2 per gallon for second hand tanks.

i worked it out as 40 gallon UK

I think your 40UK will be about right,

Its equal to 208 Litres, which makes it 55 US Gallons

I'd say its a darn good price for a tank & stand like that!

I will post pics and then progress pics as i intend to renovate the cabinate as i am sure it is tatty cos its been in their garage. Another good thing i sold a 5 gallon today and the person offered £35 for it

For my £80 I got:

The Tank
Filter
2 Strip lights
Cabinate
python cleaner
3 nets (various size)
bucket full of gravel
2 air pumps
2 heaters
spare filter bits
glass cleaners
bottles of medicine
bottles of tap safe
a few airstones (asorted sizes)
plus loads more

I am so chuffed best thing is i thought my mum would moan but she is now begging me to have it under the stairs so the whole family can enjoy it and means i can keep all my bedroom tanks too.

what an interesting shaped tank, i would've thought 55g tanks were usually longer than that? but then what do i know!
