Hello there. Basically after a few arrangements have been made I have a spare 70l tank. This tank is a standard Jewel Rekord 70 which came supplied with filter, heater and lights. At the moment im thinking of putting a sand ground in this tank, and then a rocky aquascape with maybe one or two peices of bogwood and my current plasic plants. Then, after a bit of help from this forum, have realised that i could add a pair of Kribs into this tank. Is this true? And also would they like my ideas for the aquascape or prefer something else? Ive heard they like plenty of hiding places so that would be catered for with build up of rocks. Im also wondering if i could add any other fish into the tank with them, for instance cories or bigger tetras? I would like some shoaling fish aswell but would cardinals be alright or would they become food for the kribs? Also, is there enougth room in this tank to home all these fish? Is there anything else i should know about before going and buying these fish? Thanks for all your help; much appriecated :hyper:

You could keep a pair in there. BUt that is it, no room for anything else. So, if your going to get some, i would get a fancier Krib than the common ones. I would shoot for :
Pelvicachromis Taeniatus ( Nigerian Red)
Pelvicachromis Taeniatus ( Moliwe )

Sorry but im going to jump on this thread with a question about kribs as im also looking into doing a setup for them.
Similar size tank similar aquascape. I would like to have a pair, breeding or not. But i would also like to stock some corys, a smaller species. Would the kribs become aggressive towards them? i have no experience with either fish but would like to. I've read up on the kribs quite a bit and i know they will be ok on their own but didnt see anthing about cory tankmates... so what do you think?

Thanks in advance and sorry for highjacking your thread Lamby_Lee

I think they could turn aggressive towards them yeah, as they're a fellow bottom dweller and the kribs see it as competing for territory! That said, I have 8 pandas in with my pair and only occastionaly do the kribs even bother with them, however they aren't in breeding mode so I could imagine things would get worse then!

Thats another of my questions actually.. as i already have some corries which i would of liked to keep... thanks! :good:

Is there any chance i could add any other fish in this tank? cos i think the tank would look rather boring :S

thanks again

If it were me, personally, I'd have a small shoal of harlequin rasboras (6-8), they have a great personality and seem very active! Don't know if others would agree...?

Thanks again. Ive just read a topic on this forum about a similar size tank and setup. Someone recomended that some tetras that wernt to small or aggressive could be mixed. They said black skirt tetras or lemon tetras, is this true? I would really like to add more fish to this tank as i beleive it would look bare and im not too bothered about breeding. If not I will consider other fish or maybe just keep my comunity tank

Thanks in advance (im grateful)

Okay, were are talking 20 gallons. So, if you were to be putting a school of anything in that tank, it would be lemon tetra's. They are big enough that the kribs won't do much harm, just scare them off.

Are there any other fish which can be added? Something more colourful? Thanks for all your help so far :D !

I meant instead of the lemon tetras :S Im not too good with words :D

Lemon's are pretty colorful. They will spice up the tank. Basically, shoot for a tetra that is bigger than a Cardinal Tetra.
