How much would it cost for a tank suitable for a 6 year old goldfish? Thanks.

it depends on where you live and what sort of goldfish it is. Also do you have a filter or do you need that too?
Generally adult goldfish should be housed in fish tanks that are at least 3ft long, preferably bigger. If there are a number of big goldfish then you want a 6ft tank or more. A couple of fancy goldfish would be fine in a 3ft tank.
Goldfish are pretty messy fish and need a good filter. You might find a decent filter will cost you as much as the tank, maybe more.

If your not to fussed about the tank, and only want a large one for the goldfish you should look in your local classified adds or on ebay you might find one going cheap. I got a 3 foot tank by accident for free, my dad happend to mention to someone i'd started with tropical fish and they said they'd just upgraded and i could have their old tank. That would mean you'd only have to pay for the equipment to go in it. Also some public tips sell things people bring there so you might be able to get a cheap one there. Keep your eye out and i'd imagin within a couple of months you'll find a decent one thats not that expensive.
