Need Help With Plumbing Filter

Hi all,

I am in the process of building a pond, i have a kockney koi 5000v filter which will be pump fed with inch and half pipe, and the return will be gravity fed in 3 inch pipe.

The thing im wondering how high above the pipe outlet at the pond does the filter outlet need to be? In simple terms how much fall on the return pipe do i need to achieve?

The pipe run will be around 6m and have 3 bends in.

I would put it around 1ft above the water level. The return doesn't really need to fall as such so should work if its 4 inches higher than the water level.
personally i would go just under 12 inch.

mine filter return is about 10 inches then the return pipe slopes down to about 5-6 inches off the surface

then it has a elbow on it takeing it to 3inch of surface and the fish bag is to reduce the noise (when its in the water)
