I wanted to buy a pair of Nanochromis transvestitus from my lfs today but the man in the shop told me that in my tank they would die because my water is hard.. and advised me to buy a pair of kribs instead as they do good in soft water. I really prefer the Nanochromis transvestitus over the kribs so i would like to know if what he was saying is true or if they would in actual fact survive in hard water. thanx guyss..

Most info on the species you named suggest soft water with low ph value.I would in this case ,side with the LFS.
