Hi, I have a problem with my new Betta. We already have 2, Homer & Neo and we got them from the same pet shop. When we bought our third, Squirt, we bought him from a different pet shop.

Homer & Neo took to eating pelletts straight away, but Squirt doesnt eat them. It has been 4 days now. Yesterday i bought some dried blood worms & some frozen ones too. I have tried him on both and he still wont eat. I know it has only been a day but im beginning to get worried.

He is still rather active, and is making bubbles, but often he just floats and it does not even look like he is breathing! Is this how they sleep?

Can someone please enlighten me on this behaviour?

Some bettas will sulk when you bring them home because they don't like change. Just offer him food once a day, walk out of the room for a while, and when you come back in, if the food's still not eaten, take it out of the tank and just try again the next day. He'll eat when he's hungry enough, and bettas can live for a long time without food, so it's nothing to worry about if he's otherwise healthy. :) Four days is nothing... I had a betta refuse to eat for a month! :X
