I have a new aggressive danio in my tank. I have three others that are peaceful. It's gotten worse over the past week since I've gotten them. This one spends half its time attacking my mollies  and half its time attacking the other Danios!

I'd like to remove this Danio from my tank, but since danios are schooling fish that means I should probably get rid of all my danios since 3 is not enough, right? I am new to fishkeeping and need some advice. I guess I really prefer the personalities of my livebearers to those of the danios.

I don't want this one fish to stress out my mollies - one of them is pregnant. But how on earth do I get this danio out of the tank if necessary? It's too darn fast... :sly:

If anyone has any ideas....

yes danios are schooling fish; 5 is the recomended minimum.

if you are having trouble catching him try lowering the water level and if that don't work remove all decorations(so there is nothing to hid behind)
I usually use two nets, one to chase them and one to catch them.

I'd go with adding more fish. I had a bully danio myself, after losing 2 fish to it, I got more danios to go with him, 6 all up now, and, while they all chase each other around, there's no obvious bullying.

Thanks a lot, guys. The advice was very helpful. :) I'm returning the danios today and finally managed to get them all out. Hopefully through the stress of being moved my mollie won't abort her pregnancy :) My tank is too small for them and I'm going to get 2 more livebearers, that's it!

We had several Leopard Danios but sadly are now left with one. He seems quite happy to be on his own & gets on ok with the other inhabitants of the tank (including Mollies).
