Just to set the scene:

My sister has 3 common goldfish in a 35L elite tank and she's giving them to my dad who is putting all 3 in his 30L BiOrb with multiple guppies and cherry shrimp. IVe tried offering to swap my 60 or 70L tank for his BiOrb (not ideal but slightly better) and he's said no they will be fine in his tank.

I have said they will not be ok in his BiOrb but he wont listen to me, neither would my sister.

Basically i want to know who i could report him to? i know he's my dad but its not fair on the goldies and they have a spine so are covered by the animal welfare act of 2006.

Oh yeah he's also said he wants to put my 3 long finned danios in to, to which ive said no way!!

Please help me he's getting them this saturday or sunday cos my sister is getting a ferret.

Do you have a friend with a pond? You could offer to rehome the goldies in the pond and sort him out with something suitable for his tank? (The betta-lover in me is screaming to put a betta in the 30l, but obvs there are other options) It might cost you a little bit but I guess if you really wanna help the goldies...

I'm not sure who you'd report him too, I must admit I'm not very well read on the subject ^^;;

Yeah he definately wants the goldies and i dont know anyone with a pond, i have tried to get rid of them on here for free but noone was interested :(

You need to find a pond fast as it will be to let soon to cliamtise them.
You can't add golfish to ponds in the winter months.

For three common goldfish you need at least a 60 gallon and 120 gallon filter. Due to being massive waste producers.

I had the samething happen with my sister. I ended up taking the 4 goldfish off her as they were beginning to suffer.
She had 4 goldfish in a 6 gal tank.
