Hi,

I just bought myself two "koi" swordtails which are an albino variant and unfortunately both didn't make it and possibly had the slightest bit of white on the top lip and fungus on his tail. Please can someone help confirm this as I dont have a way to quarrantine it from the main tank and so I can start treating it as soon as possible.

My Betta has now caught the disease and overnight the white fungus has progressed from his mouth to just under his eyes, and his 2 red long fins on his underside have started to go white.

I have treated my tank with interpet anti fungus and finrot and dosing with melafix daily (this afternoon is dose 3), I don't know what else to do and all help is appreciated.

Below is a picture of the possible culprit as both swords have now passed and taken 2 glass catfish too.

hey i hope since you posted your fish are getting better? but if not do a 25% water change before adding a MULTI CURE LYIQUD TREATMENT TO YOUR WHOLE TANK. AND ALO TURN YOUR HEATER UP ABOUT TO DEGRESS TO HELP KILL INFECTIONS FATER.

mY GUESS IT IS JUST A FUNGAL INFECTION OR FIN ROT, BUT LEFT UNTREATED COULD TURN INTO OTHER DISEASE TOO IF FISH DONT DIE BEFOREHAND :(

ALSO CHECK YOU ph LEVEL IS CORRECT. TURN YOU LIGHT ON THE TANK ONLY 2 HOURS A DAY TO ADVOID AND FORM OR FUNGAS GROWING FROM LIGHT.

i ONCE HAD MY FIRST DISEASE OUTBRAKE AND THE FIRST TIME I ALSO USED MEFELAX. IT DIDNT WORK FOR ME MY FISH DYED. MEFELAX IS A HERB HEALING REMEDY, AND SOMETIMES YOU NEEED THE STRONG CHEMICALS TO FIGHT IT OFF FASTER, IF IT HAS COME ON RAPIDLY :(

a MULTI CURE TREATMENT IS ALL IN ONE AND IT HELPS IN HEALING, OF WHITE SPOT. VELVET DISEASE AND ANY FUNGAL DISEASES. :)

GOOD LUCK, SORRY NO ONE HAS REPLYED

Hi,

Total losses were 2 swords, 2 glass catfish, 1 oto and my fighter.

I suspect it was a variant of fin rot after seeing the way my fighter got within 24 hours of my post. Thanks for your help and I had to steer clear of some medicines and I have shrimp and a few of the treatments are copper based. But thankfully it has all gone and to prevent recontamination I boiled/poured boiling water over the items I used during the outbreak.
