Hi all

I want to build a stand to take two tanks, one on bottom and one on top, both the same size,

now i have been searching and looking on the forum, and the thread that didnt have something usefull, the pictures didnt work,

Ok, so the main things i need to know are the joints, and designs of the stand are best and use the least amount of wood, also what wood size would be neeeded, the tanks are both 31 US gallons, I think it would be best to buy the tanks first , then build a stand around them,

So i was wanting to know if any of you guys know of links, and/or threads (hopefully with working pics) on showing joints etc, paticually a two teir one,

Edit: I saw this thread http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=142061

And thought that this could be what I can do , but I dont know another way of bracing the tank, cause if i make two frames, 1top, 1bottom, the same size as the tank bottoms, but then there would be a problem with fitting the bottom tank, as the braces would be in the way, I know I could change the sizes of the tank , etc, but I have decided on the sizes cause it fits in a area in my house,

I would be very greatfull for any replys !

Thanks

Saboy

I don't know much about carpentry but can't you just adjust the width of the stand to take the tank size into account? Measure your tanks and make the adjustments accordingly.

Hi,

I posted this link in another stand building thread. I was saying that you can buy similar shelving units that hold 350kg per shelf and you can change the arangement of the shelves as you like. They are pretty cheap to buy in Australia but I am sure you can get similar near you somewhere.

Just an idea anyway.

its not for looks, just to work, now that I found out about what tanks are needed for raising angelfish, (in my other thread) it looks like i need one to hold a 55 gallon on the bottom, but I have been looking on the net, and have found out what will be best to make a stand,

I will post back with links to show the kind of stand I mean, just so you can see !
