Hi,

We are pretty happy with the tank as we have it stocked below, but we feel that our set-up can handle one more fish since we have chosen small fish. We would like to get something a little larger and a little more colorful then what we have, but not something that will disrupt what has been a very friendly community tank.

Any suggestions for what might make a good solitary fish? I was considering one of the smaller Gouramis, but have concerns mixing it with the boisterous horde of Danios that never stop moving in our tank.

It is fairly heavily planted for a 10g, and has some good hiding places, but not much top cover since we need to make the most of limited lighting (15w) for the plants we have.

Thanks!

Regards,

Artuk

Sorry but IMO you dont have room for any more fish as you are already pushing the safe bounderies of your tank.

I'll side with CFC on this one. On the positive side. You can start dreaming/planning for that next larger tank and do some research for the future, larger, more colorful fish that you would like :D

Thanks for the responses. I have to admit, as I modified my sig to incorporate our latest additions, I realize we do have quite a lot of fish now, and was having second thoughts. I have to keep in mind that the small guppies and gobies wont be that small forever. The Danios all seem to have reached their full size.

I am definitely looking at a larger tank, but it might be some time before we can do that. This has been quite an addicting hobby.

I went from a 10 to 55 gallon almost right away! I thought hubby was going to ##(#&$#
If you really want a bigger tank, look in the want ads of the local paper. I got my 55 gallon, hood, lights, filter and stand for $50! :D :D

Then you can happily start adding more fish..... ;)

$50  That's a solid deal..is the tank, stand, hood used????. I went from a 10 g to a 33 gallon in a month and a half, and now i wanted a bigger tank and a different set of fish(mbuna, or a community). I just saw a 55 gallon tank with hood and lights at petsmart for $149, I was going to buy it but my dad is not really down with the idea, he thinks this hobby is getting outta hand....I need my own place..... :D

I have had 55g tanks in the past (Never knew what I am learning now), probably ten years ago or more.
I lived with mom and pop at that time and now have my own place; I started with a 10g just to see if I still had the interest and now find myself wanting a bigger tank.

This has been quite an addicting hobby

I Agree,
