I have been cycling my tank now for 12 Days using the "add and wait fishless cycling method" I added the ammonia to bring my 190L tank up to 5ppm. So far I have not had much movement in my tank, Ive had heater running on 30c and my filter running continuously but my tank has only really went down to 4ppm.

Any advice? Really starting to worry about this

Cheers,
Dan

Hi

Took me around 17 / 18 days before my ammonia dropped and I thought my cycle (link below) overall was quick compared to some others....

I'm afraid copious amounts of patience is required but as someone on here said you should use the time to read up all you can about your fish so as to mitigate against any problems down the line!

Good luck on your cycling - maybe do a log as at least it helps keep the boredom away (a bit!) and also will help anyone else giving advice...

If you have an aeration device then I would suggest placing it in your tank. I was told the oxygenation helps the bacteria grow quicker, it seems to have made a real difference in my cycle and I am using 2.
