hello,

tomorrow I will most likely be going to my LFS. I am going to get some stress coat and a brighter bulb as mine is only 15 watts and I want a brighter one for my plant growth. Right know I am using Leaf Zone as that was the only fert my other fish store carried. I was wondering if someone could give me afew diffrent common brands of ferts that have other benefical vitamins and minerals because leaf zone doesn't have a broad amount of nurtients for the plants.

Thanks,

DL

I use the full seachem line of plant products and recommend them. They're extremely concentrated and the amount of money you pay compared to how many gallons the solution treats is much better than most other ferts. I would start out with flourish and flourish trace depending on what your lfs carries. Also, pick up some root tabs if you don't have a planted aquarium substrate such as laterite or flourite. Also, if they carry the 100ml multi-packs of ferts I would get one just to try out each for a few weeks to see how they effect your plants and find out which ones are worth your money.

the flourish rage is a great one but surprisingly hard to come by round here.

hi
i use seachem flourish excel & have noticed a huge difference in improvement in our plant growth, you can get it easily from lots of uk online aquarium supply shops. i tend to buy a couple of bottles & any other supplies i need (meds ,food etc) at once so the p&p doesnt end up seeming like a lot. (google search will find lots of shops online)

i just ment of all the LFS we`ve been to i`ve only seen it in one...

I see.

Yes, IME most UK LFS rarely stock a decent selection of planted aquarium goods for anything but the most basic needs. I wonder if times will change? I hope so. I guess it's a the chicken and egg scenerio - LFS won't stock a decent selection until there's a demand, but there won't be a demand until the planted hobby becomes more public - something that LFS have a massive influence on. I digress. :)
