Need A Kribensis Tankmate

i want to have some fish or a fish with my kribensis pair in my 17.6 gallon tank. it will have to be a beast of a fish, what kind of fish do you recommend, keep in mind im not a fan of my fish getting murdered by eachother.

Bristlenose or other small plec?

i had thought of that, if i do though, i think ill go for a special looking one, the BN plecs i have already dont look good, plus i was thinking of more of a 'regular' fish, like a cichlid that wont be bothered by the kribs

Pretty much any other cichlid that could be kept in a 17.6 gallon tank will be too timid to be housed with kribs.

How do you feel about quick shoaling fish, like danios? They're quick enough to avoid the kribs easily without getting stressed, when kept in a large enough group.

gouramis should be okay, they will hang out around the top whereas the kribs will be at the bottom

anything that isnt on the bottom will be okay i should think

Personally, if you have a true breeding pair of kribs, I wouldn't have anything else in there, IMO. I think in the long run, any gourami would get picked on. All of the gouramis I've had didn't stay at the top. They explored the tank. Also, 17.6 gallons is way too small for a shoal of danios + kribs together.

ok, i guess ill just have the kribs then, unless i see something i like, then ill research it and see if it'll work.

I would just have the kribs,they can become very aggressive when in breeding condition towards other fish,
