ive ditched the bright pebbles and even the plastic plant in favor of a real one, gotta be the natural effect if you ask me, although i saw this huge ship for £60 od in 2 halfs each over a foot long, if i had a tank big enough :hey:

i love looking at natural tanks i use logs and plants in my tanks yeah some are fake plants but they are based on real plants in design.

:good:

Natural for me. Although I do have a fake fish hiding behind a small fake plant! It was a present. :) Otherwise I have real plants, mopani wood and natural looking gravel.

i hate the bright colored gravel, fake plants, ship wreck, underwater bubble lights and opening treasure chests

the fish are the main part of a tank thats why its called fishkeeping

but the tacky stuff must sell or the fish shops wouldnt sell it

Natural every time!

Bit of a leading question though - 'tacky' is not really making this a fair vote!

Wonder what your responses would have been had you said

Old fashion boring gravel/sand/plant

or

creative, imaginative and interesting?

(For my money though tacky is an understatement for some!)

Natural

but nobodies going to vote for 'tacky' are they because the tacky is an adjective used when somebody is slaggin off the artificial or 'less natural' theme. But im just being picky.

Natural definitley IMO

natural is the best agreed , but is it not possible to achieve a harmony of man-made and natural objects? I not talkin about day glo gravel but some resin ornaments can make a tank look just a little bit more interesting, e.g, sunken ruins with cabomba growing out of it etc...

I am going to do an outrageously tacky tank in the future. I don't know if it will actually have fish in it as I was planning it as a kind of joke/tribute to when you first start out in fish keeping. If it does contain fish, probably something like Guppies or another commonly seen colorful fish to fit the outrageous color scheme and appearence.

On the whole, all my tanks have the natural look to them save one with a pagoda my shark and clowns like. I don't see anything wrong with a properly done "tacky" tank but I also know most people do them in ugly, garish ways.

mmmm, non natural tanks are the best. neon green and pink gravel, treasure chest, spongebob ornaments, diver with bubbles coming out. best tank ever

for a kid, of course i like natural looking tanks better

Not all tanks without plants are tacky!Mbuna tanks are nautral and unplanted...but honestly, just because pink neon gravel exists, doesn't mean everyone with an unplanted tank uses it...!
I voted natural, but why not do a poll with pictures of an imaginative, non-natural themed tank and a planted tank? With time taken for maintenance....

Not all Mbuna tanks are unplanted, mine all have plants in them, its just a matter of finding which plants will survive with them
