My youngest bristlenose is a female longfin and today i found her with the fin on one side torn away to the bone! She seems ok despite this and there's no blood or anything but obviously this is pretty serious! I have no idea how it happened or what caused her injury but obviously I want to help her get better. Anyone got any ideas?
Hugs,
P.

Poor thing, can she keep her balance ok, is it possilbe to issolate the plec, just very good water quality, plec can be funny with meds so if you use melafix i would just add half dose, plus increase aeration.

I can use one of my betta tanks for her. I'm just utterly shocked that she has such an injury at all! :S I'll try and seperate her, which could be tricky since she's in my heavily planted tank. :X
Hugs,
P.

See how she gets on in the tank balancing wise, keep very good water quality, good luck.

Thanks. I managed to get her. Her balance seems fine. She seems normal in every other way apart from the nasty looking injury, poor girl. :( She's now in one of the 5g tanks on her own. Hopefully she'll be fine. Wish I knew how she'd managed such an injury so I could do something to prevent it happening again.
Hugs,
P.
