Didnt think this fish 'fitted' in either of the two cichlid forums, so am posting here (please advise and/or move if Im lost mods, thanks :))

One of my LFS has got some nanochromis transvestitus in stock and was just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience of them? Googling it resulted in adult growth length quoted from 2" to 6" so some clarification on this would be great. Also it says they can be aggressive any advice on that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks people

Sam

These are basicly a tiny kribensis in layman terms, they are a little on the sensative side and like slighty soft acidic water so unless you are gifted with perfect tapwater a R/O unit is handy when keeping them.

hey these fish are a wonderfull fish,i bought my pair 5 month ago, they are always on the move and rarely show any aggression in my tank, ive got small fish like neon tetras and pigmy corydoras, they dont bother my molly fry either,im having trouble breeding them at the minute,as i need to lower my ph to 5.0,i these are the most interesting of the dwarf cichlids in my oppinion and would strongly suggest in getting 1 male and 2 femals for a succesful spawning, great fish

Very pretty fish. I saw some at an auction a while ago for the first time. I talked to the breeder. They get about 3 inches long, and need acidic water. They don't handle nitrates over 40 ppm well.
