Nano

Howdy,

Right first of all this is probably a stupid question but WHAT IS A NANO TANK?

I love looking at the pics of some of these "nano" tanks but can't figure out why they are called that.

Is there competitions on the design of them? (I loved the golf course one!!!)

Is there rules to making it a nano??

I know its stupid and i'm sure a lot of people will snigger at this one!!! hehe I don't care though!!

The only stupid question is the one we don’t ask. A nano is a tank with less than 10us gallons. A pico is even smaller 2.5 gal or something. They are becoming popular these days, the fashion started in Japan I think. So now we have nano fish, nano plants etc. Yeah the golf course was great!

In the marine world, a nano tank is generally accepted at 20Gs or less, although, 30Gs is really the upper limits for our purposes. Pico tanks are as listed above and can be EXTREMELY challenging marine tanks to maintain. SH
