hi after seeing 'Themuleous' 24x8x8 (20 litre) planted nano as i have the same tank i was thinking about doing the same

i have already got the;

tank
25w t4 light
stones

so i need;
c02 (i think its the nutrafin?)
filter
plants

couple of questions
1) the light it works out at about 4.8wpt will this be to much? (i will be having c02)

2) filter? i like the idea of an external fish that hangs on the back (very similar to this one! LINK anyone know who else makes them/where i can get a similar filter? or a slim filter

thanks

Glad to see another person has been converted ;)

If that bulb is a standard T5 and full length I think I'd be ok, as T5's are more powerful so should work well. If its a PC (Small and wound up like the energy saving bulbs to get) bulb I'd get two so you can spread the light over the tank better.

You can get those hand on filters from aquatics-online, bargain price too :)

Keep us posted re your progress

Nanos are fun tanks, but can be hard work. I hope you enjoy yours, I miss mine. Keep us posted.

llj :)

i got it from the wholesaler its for undercabinit (sp.) lighting but its a new range the bulb is about 24 inches long its a t4 tube and its 3400k? it is a real bright white light!

i will keep you posted just trying to find another spot as the one i found wernt pratical!

Is the bulb designed for plants? Not all are and as it'll be the only tube you have, it should really be one designed for plants.

lol didnt reley think of it!

all i know is what i said in the 4th post!

it probably is not then

time will tell!

No probs :) glad to help, you'll prob find you need to remove the supplied filter media and pack it full of sponge, thats what I've heard other people have done.

yep had a quick read and said it has carbon filter pads in it :(

do you know how people got around the waterfall bit as i was thinking about the water surfice and c02 getting out etc

thanks again

Just fill the tank so that the water doesn't drop but flows into the water, that should stop to much surface water movement.
