HI there, a bit new to all this and trying to decide which tank to get.. I had decided on a biorb but seems too restrictive and then came across the D&D nano and ORCA nano. Are these suitable for tropical with the addition of a heater? what are the pros and cons?

On that note, the D&D is £100 more than the ORCA which seems to only differ in no fans and no evening lights.. Can anyone comment on quality?

In all honesty I can say that it is much easier for a beginner to start with a larger tank than a smaller tank. I know that sounds really odd, but larger tanks are more stable, allow a wider range in stocking options, and have better resale value if you decide you hate the hobby. All in one nano tanks seem really neat, but the problem with systems like that is they are really difficult to upgrade if you decide you want to. For example when we got our tank as a "kit" (tank, filter, hoods, etc in one package), we decided we needed a second filter within a month, and now are looking at upgrading the hood after only 3.

Sorry I can't give you actual advice on the different brands of nano tanks, maybe someone else can.

Thanks, I appreciate your quick feedback!. I perhaps should have mentioned that I would need the tank to sit on a 2frx2ft table in the corner of a room. There isnt really anywhere else for one to go as they would be right in front of a radiator which I would imagine wouldnt be a good thing.

Any reason that these tanks are not suitable? I would really like to keep small angel fish, siamese fighter and red tailed sharks.. The tank is 24g (90L i believe) and 36 inches high)?. I havent yet read up on the suitability of putting these together yet but I will before I proceed.
