I think I have 2 males but they are still pretty small. One has got bigger than the other and is becoming quite a bully. Should I return the smaller one? And what is the best way of sexing these fish? My LFS has quite a few of them but they are all small, about an inch in length if that.

I would return the smaller one, it will be bullied for the rest of its life otherwise.
Males are usually bigger than females, even in shops. They are usually much more colourful with hints of blue when aout 1". Females just tend to be brown with light brown markings.

Here are some pics of them... what do you think as to sex?

I'll try to get some betterpics... these two like to inhabit the back of the tank though! The top fish often has a much taller top fin (dorsal? I am still elarning the correct names!) and it stands up on end with bright yellow and black on the top edge. The smaller fish (bottom) never seems to display its fin like this. The bigger one is not bullying as much now, they seem to be getting along... he just chases the other one occasionally. So I think I'll keep both and see how they get on!
