Naming Your Fish..

Just wondering how you choose names for your fish, or do you not bother haha..

Had the fish for over 3 weeks yet and still cant think of any names. All I can think of is lame names such as "bubbles" LOL

Any help?

ive got a 4 year old so dont get to pick the names of my fish i have gnomeo and juliet 2x oscars jerry from tom and jerry a jaguar cichlid gary and kevin 2 plec's and i had an ornge molly called poo fish as he pooed alot now in a 19ltr tank in the kitchen lol

perhaps think of ones that fit their names, such as steve the sailfin molly, billy the black moor goldfish...

Some of my fish have names; they usually just occur or happen by accident like 'Mrs Whippy', my Royal whiptail, who got called that because she deos lash my ram around with her tail sometimes (the ram is obsessed with her and follows her round; it would drive me loopy too!). My angel is Gorky, after Arshile Gorky, the artist (his biography was called 'Black Angel')

Some of them have collective names; my green neons are called 'Bob' (yes, all of them! We can't tell them apart, can we?!), the tiger barbs are called 'The Swarm', because they're dangerous in a mob and stripy like bees

My kids have named some of the others; the oscar is 'Gormok the Impaler', named by my son after a WOW character; the striped talking catfiah is called "Six" (we had one called 'Five' 'cos they have a 'V' on their heads, which is the Roman number five he died, so this one is, "the one after Five"); the Synodontis is 'Half Tail', for obvious reasons (he was like it when I got him; it's never grown back). The BNs are Russell and Lady Eleanor.

None of the others have names.

My brevis are Larry, lil, terry and June. But after I moved them into a bigger tank they all re-paired so the names are mixed up now lol. Got another female called Brenda (a fish called Brenda ) but it turned out to be a juvenile male so is now called brendan.

Wow those are some very creative names fluttermoth. I really like the idea "The Swarm" for your Tiger barbs.

My girlfriend picked the names of my green terrors lol.

Male green terror is called "Terry the terror".
His 'girlfriends' are "tina" and "tifa" (tifa from final fantasy 7).

Ruby shark gets called "ruby" and my german blue ram gets called "mr blue",
rest have names stuck with them from my noob days of not knowin what they exactly was e.g kribensis gets called "purple belly" ? lol.

You don't have to name them but if you do name them what they do like stare at them for a while or let it come to you because I got a fish and totally forgot about the name and then someone said name it fishdofer

Like I got a fish once and it kinda stressed out the other fish to death so I named it big bad
