New to this forum but.....
I recently visited my local fish shop to find what they named up as a 'blue shark'
it was about 3-4 inches long and swam exactly like a shark with a pointed dorsal fin
sort of had a blind cave fish look about it. was in a tank with a shoal of rams and neons so i assume isn't too predatory
Was priced at £24.95.
I asked the shopkeeper how offen do you get them in and he said on odd occasions and usually a little bit bigger
if anyone knows what fish i am talking about or can submit pictures of the fish they think it is or even know of a place i can purchase one i would be very very grateful
many thanks

Does it look like a rainbow shark? if so it could be a blue white finned rainbow shark,

The price sounds too extreme for a pangasius

if a rainbow shark looks like a red tailed black shark then no it doesn't
and it is definitely not a pangasius - i know what they are and only bout £9

Ehhh, it's just that the chances of a ID without a picture is pretty nil. Is there any way you can head back to the store and get a pic already?

and with a silly made up name like blue shark it could be anything,
if you can't get a pic you could still ring the store and see if they have a scientific name for the fish.

what colour was the fish? was it dark, light, was it swimming in the middle, top, bottom of the tank? more information at the least would help.

The only tropical fish named as sharks are listed below however IMO its is unlikely to be any of them apart from maybe a rarer labeo,

RTB, rainbow, black and other rarer labeo species
Bala Shark
Colombian Shark
apollo shark
iridescent shark
cigar shark
