N.E.Lincs Uk Fish Freaks

Hi - I live fairly close (Hull). Are there any really good fish stores in your area? I'm willing to travel if there are, as there aren't that many good ones around me!

I understand that you have a lovely large tank - I've got a large Pleco that needs a good home - what do you think!!

Seriously, I'm hoping to get a good home for him shortly, as he is in a Rio 180 with African cichlids - not that he minds.

I'd love a larger tank, but think I need a larger house first! Not enough wall space.

:D yeah i know what u mean, mine seems small now and i want more tanks lol.

I got a bulldog pleco as i didnt want one that was going to get huge, my old tank years ago had one in and he had to go to a friend in the end with a much bigger tank.

Yeah there is a good one here in Grimsby. Sixhill Aquatics, the lad (Alan) has been running it for years, he knows his stuff and isnt just tryin to sell fish.

Thanks for that Rob - think I'll try that shop one day soon!

I've just switched my substrate for my small tropical tank from gravel to sand (neon and glowlight tetras, clown loaches, bronze corys, an odd flame tetra - got in the bag with the neons and got it for free! - and an absolutely ancient silvertip tetra. Oh, and a catfish that looks like a twig).

The switch went OK, but after testing the water today I've got a bit of a nitrite spike going on - will have to keep an eye on this.....

When this tank is stable, I'll be looking for more fish for my other (african cichlid) tank.
