So, yesterday evening I found a newborn platy in my tank! A little grey one (completely different than my cream and black babies that are just over 2 weeks old).

I was not expecting any babies at all in that tank. I have 25 2 week old babies in there and 3 other platies who are not yet fully grown. Rosie is 100% not the mother and positively virgin. I did, recently enough, buy two more platies (that make my total of 3) who are the exact same size as Rosie... and I assumed, due to size, they would be virgins too. LOL

I guess one of them had one lone fry! (Unless there were more and they were eaten!)

So.... I moved that one little grey babe into the breeder net on its own to save it from being eaten.

My first question.... should I put one or two of my 2 week old babies in there to keep it company? He is still in the same tank as the other so can see them, just separated in the breeder net.

And... who do you think is the mother? I am guessing since the baby is kind of grey it must be the Blue Coral Platy. The other is a Mickey Mouse Platy who has a mostly white body with some orange.

My 4th platy (who gave birth to the 25 2 week olds) was moved into the community tank well before this baby ever appeared because she.... seems to hate other platies! LOL
