While doing my weekly water changes today, I noticed 3 fry swimming strategically in my tank. They looked VERY close to newborn fry to me so I scooped them up with a net and put them in a breeding trap. I have no idea who the mum is. I have guppies (male and female and fry), platies (male and female) and a swordy. I also had another swordy in there but sadly she died on Friday
The fry look suspiciously like my last batch of guppy fry....but I also have a very heavily pregnant platy in there. All the other female fish are almost always at some stage of pregnancy so who knows.
LOL. It will be interesting to see what species they turn out to be. Does anyone have guppy and platy fry atm, or had had together in the past. Is there anything that distinguishes a guppy from a platy/swordy at such a young age?
I shall keep you updated
