Hello....i just found out now that one of my fish (dont know which one laid eggs)....about 50-100 small white yellowish eggs laid ON THE TOP OF ONE OF MY ANUBIAS LEAVES. (more on the white colour)....the problem is, i dont know which fish laid them... I have one pearl gourami, an angelfish, a black ghost, an african butterfly fish, and 5 tiger barbs (all fish perfectly peaceful and get along).....i know that gouramis need a bubble nest or sumthin to lay there eggs in and i know that the tiger barbs scatter their eggs meaning the tiger barbs and the gourami are not a likely option. I dont knw if my BGK or ABF laid those eggs. the only one left is the angelfish.... i say this bcoz its being protective of the eggs somehow by wiggling over it and nipping other fish coming close to it.... so is the GOurami somehow is protecting as well ????? IM SURPRISED bcoz my BGK, PEARL GOURAMI, ABF especially the presumed egglayer the ANGELFISH have no partners...can ne1 help me which fish they think it is?????
If anyone of you have a clue as to which one it is....can u giv me any suggetsions of what to do next....
P.S. i have a empty 2 foot tank, with filter and heater to use if i really need to....
THANKYOU....

I don't have any of those fish except the gouramis, and as you said they are bubblenesters.

But my Green Terror will lay eggs all the time and I've only just chucked a male in with her. So I wouldn't worry about needing the other tank, as your eggs by the sounds of it aren't fertilised.

If the Angelfish is being protective and defending them, then I'd say the eggs are hers.
She'll most likely start eating them soon, which is completely normal.

At least you know she's fertile :)

Ye ive shouldve known...i had a feeling that just might be the case...thanx newayz... i might be more successful breeding angelfish if theres a male in the tank lol..
