Mystery Culprit - Please Help?

Hmmm......
Randy - one of my male guppies has had a chunk missing from his fantail for about 3 weeks.
This morning I came down to find Mummie Guppy - recently (oh, a week or so) gave birth - has a big section missing right out of the centre of her caudal fin. She is a very big guppy, for a guppy..

So who did it?
Under the cover of darkness....


Took them each to the interrogation cell : Twinkle playing bad cop, Twillie playing good cop (the black cats)
Harry acting as judge and jury (African Grey)
But no-one coughed

RTBS? (Sharkey) sometimes chases Danios but never seen him even notice guppys. debates philosphy with Suck Face (Clown Plec)
'Robin' Gourami? One bullies the other so I guess they are both boys
Zebra Danios? Eat guppy fry as if it was all their birthdays rolled into one and lurve to party.
Not Robbie II or Williams. No, not them - why would a 2inch Angel bother a guppy? at night?
Bad boy sunset wagtail platy? 3 lads all about half grown. Think they're hard, they do - well 2 of them - the 3rd won't play

I am not suspecting the Harlequin Rasboras, my darling little chubby otos, Colin the Trilobite (borneo sucker) or Suck Face (Clown Plec) or any of the other guppies.

Seriously - I can't have my guys beaten up like this. So who should I evict ?

and feed to Twillie and Twinkle (no, not really, I wouldn't honestly, I couldn't - even in retaliation for the fabled vid of an Arowana being fed a kitten - which, no, I have not seen or looked for - Just been revolted by hearing about.)

It was probabaly the gourami or the angel. I would watch the tank or frequenty check what all the fish are doing to see if you can spy some odd behavior.

Yup, the Angels and gourami's are in the top of my suspects by reputation I suppose. But I am around all day - and it has definitely happened at night on both occasions.
No agression going on in front of me.

I'm mystified - I know I was joking about a bit in my first post but I am really keen to move some guys if anyone can identify this. Has it happened to you?
The tail holes are not rips but deep U shaped slots - the biggest in Mrs G's Tail fin last night.

personaly I have never seen my gouramis bullying guppys but I have had guppys that where fine at night and in the morning they had a chunk missing or had ragged fins. But it may the be the angel since they are notorious for eating small fish.

Yeah but the angels are just babies - I'd put them number 1 guilty if they were adults

look at my tank nobody bothers anybody i would suspect the gouramis as most gouramis become mean as they grow older and are not good community fish i used to have a rtbs clown pleco and they never bothered my guppies and the angels dont either now and they are full grown AND mated

Ok - see the logic - I want to blame the gourami 'cos I don't like him. It's a clash of personalities thing - he just doesn't understand me!

but you don't have mad zebra danios - mine are like a bunch of lager louts though they only chase around after each other and i think it's only SeX nor have you got any platys
