Hi everyone,

Much to my chagrin, I noticed one of my delfax spotted cories was missing today at feeding time. I searched the tank thouroughly, not knowing where it could have gone, and began to dread the worst.

I lifted up my mopani driftwood, only to find my poor fish's corpse lying trapped underneath. I fail to see any explanation for it other than the cory, while searching for food, dug into the gravel under the driftwood, either crushing or trapping itself until it starved. I don't know how long it was there, but I do remember seeing both cories yesterday, swimming around as normal.

Has anyone ever had this happen to one of their fish? I feel rather guilty, as if I set up my driftwood in a precariously delicate position to trap a curious fish. Also, does anyone know any way that I can avoid this type of thing happening in the future?

Thank you in advance for your advice and sympathy.

Sorry for your loss, please don't beat your self up about it though. i don't know how to keep it from happening again, but i seriously doubt it was your fault. it's not like you made a little cory trap and waited till he was there and knocked the wood on him.

:rip: little cory
