Hi, though I would try the online forums for once as I need help to treat an angelfish.

Short Story: Angelfish hovers at surface, does not move or eat. No visible signs.

Long Story: I recently purchased 2 angelfish from the LFS. After introducing them to my community tank one starts acting strangely; hovering at the surface in one location, breathing rapidly and not eating. The only visible sign is a singular protruding white spot the size of a grain of sugar on its side. I put it in a quarantine tank and the next day I find it has died. Now the other angelfish is behaving in the same way however I am unable to see any visible signs (it is white). Any advice would be appreciated as I would like to save this one. Cheers

Water perimeters:
Nitrite- 10ppm
Nitrate-NA
Ammonia- nil
Temp- 26cel
pH- 7.2

Tank size?
Tank mates?
Angel fish size?

200ltr
10 danios, Red Tail Shark, 2 other angel fish, peppermint catfish, 1 clown loach
Angelfish are a bit over an 1 and a half inches long

Was there any bullying going on? The other two angel fish, what size are they? I know angels can be quite aggressive when other new angels are introduced.

No odd feces that I could find anywhere and no bloating either

They all seemed to be getting along fine, no chasing or anything. The two other angel are of a similar size and are very active and healthy.

acclimatization method used?

any idea on the different in pH between LFS and your tank?

acclimatization method- float the bag from LFS, gradually add in aquarium water then after a while net them out of the bag and add to tank. No idea on the LFS pH though...

10 nitrIte, or 10 nitrAte!?

Nitrites are deadly to fish, if you have 10 ppm, I'm surprised you still have fish living in that tank. Also, just for a heads up, clown loaches need to be kept in groups of 6 or more in very large tanks. Watch your clown loach for signs of ich. They get it very commonly, especially when they're being kept alone.
