Hello all,

I went to my LFS Saturday, and bought 4 fish and a UV Sterilizer. Yesterday, 1 of the new fish was dead, and half of the others were at the top with their mouths out of the water. By the afternoon, the fish were swimming normally, and I thought nothing of it. Anyway, when I looked in my tank this morning, the same had happened. 1 of the newbies has died, and half are at the top.

I've just phoned the shop I bought the fish from, and they recommended Myaxin? I don't drive, so it'll be the weekend before I get there. I've looked on the Internet, but can't find it.

Does anyone know anywhere I can get it from?

Thanks

hi there,

slightly random, is sizer you're surname, tis my other half's surname (and will hopefully be mine one day  ), never meet people called sizer.

anyway, i would suggest before treating with myaxin you make sure this is the correct treatment, to do this can you tell us some more info on the tank, how big is it, when was it set up, was it cycled and if so how, what species of fish do you have, what maintenance have you done?

It is my surname too. Is his name Gary by any chance? He' s my Brother...

It is a 300 liter tank. It was set up in April. Wasn't cycled, transfered filter media. Told it would be OK. I have mainly Cichlids, but have some non Cichlids. What do you mean by maintenance? I used some Green Away just over two weeks ago.

Is this ok? If there is any more info you need, please ask.

lol, no i don't think i'm going out with your brother

ah ok no problem, just wasn't sure if it was a brand new tank or not, with the mature media it should have been fine. do you have test readings for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

exactly what species do you have, what species are the new fish and what species are the fish that died?

by routine maintenance i mean how often do you do water changes and how much do you change, how often do you clean the filter and how do you do it, do you regularly add any chemicals to the water, if so what and how often? anything else you do to keep the tank ticking along.
