This tank gets even less attention than my middle tank at home, but wanted to share it with you all the same, I'm actually quite pleased with how it looks, especially now I've done a re-scape. It also shows you my java fern, dont know how it got to big but its huge!

(sorry for the blue colour of the after shot, but it was the best of a bad bunch.)

Before - been meaning to get in there and sort things out for a while!

The java fern! (im size 9, in case you were wondering ;))

And the after, hopefully the rotala will bush out a bit and create more of a bunched Dutch-style bit in the tank. The fish like the more open swimming area, and I've managed to hide the heater and filter behind the java fern. Also added some laterite under the crypts and rotala, so hopefully that will help them a bit. Very little algae in this tank.

I love your tank Themuleous, it looks great! The plants look fantastic.

Its a rena aquarama 60, the box says 60lt, but it only takes 40lt or 9UKg, to fill it once the substrate is in. Have the very same setup at home, great starting tank, easy to maintain but big enough to be relatively stable.

That is really surprising, the tank looks quite big from your picture! I'm setting up a new tank next year and your tank has given me some idea of how I want it to look.

I still envy your algae free tanks. Whats the lighting? Any CO2?

Low light is the way forward on the algae front, from my limited EI experience, it creates more hassles that it solves! Lighting is as it came, think its 15w, no special plant tube either nor reflector, although the room as a whole gets quite a bit of natural light, but no direct sunlight onto the tank.

No CO2, but I have a spare nutrafin kit at home, that I might hook up to it in the new year, haven't decided yet, but then again why mess with the tank if its working so well!

More by luck than design! got 2 clown loaches, 3 celebs rainbows, 1 white molly, 2 neons, 3 black neons, 3 platinum tetra and an otto, so quite a lot!

Eeek, you do know the clown loaches will need a bigger tank in future?

Thanks for the warning but I'm well aware of the size clowns get to, I have several at home that are 4" now, but it's taken them 3years so I've got plenty of time. I have always planned to get a 100g to re-home the clowns I have at home so these will join them if/when they are to big for this tank.
