(This is "Saucy" on my BF's computer) After the Culligan people recently came to do some maintenence on our water filter, I have lost 3 of my betta... in the past 2 weeks. The ONLY thing I could think of is that it was something in our water. So I brought 2 water samples into Petco (one from the tank, one from the tap); both came up as perfect. I even treat my water with Stress Coat because I'm paranoid.

What the Petco guy did tell me was that there is probably something that they can't test for... like Zinc and other metals and things. I'm calling the Culligan people first thing on Monday to tell them to get their butts out here and test the water. If it's killing all my fish, I'm not drinking it either.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it would be... I don't know what to do. I have my last male betta in a tiny cup with water from my girls' filtered tank (the only reason they're all still alive). I also have a dwarf puffer that doesn't look so hot either...

HELP!!!

Could be zinc. Or something abstract the pipelines are picking up. Like, if the pipelines rust or something. Try adding a little more dechlorinator that states that it detoxifyes heavy metals, and give it a try.
