My Vallis Has Flowered

I've had Vallis for a long time but never seen it flower. For the first time now, I've had one flower It looks like a female flower, cause its risen to the surface and is attached to a long stalk.

As for your sword... the same thing is happening to mine, and I when asked about it, Zig asked me about my trace fertailzer. I wasn't dosing enough for my tank... I was dosing according to my bottles reccomendations, not what was needed for a planted tank, which is 5ml per 20 gallons (I needed 22.5, and was adding 7.5ml... just a little off). How much are you adding?

Wow, I am surprised that none of you poeple have seen vallis flowers. I have never actually produced some but the last two time I have bought plants from greenline a few pieces of vallis have had flowers. I also had a baby tears that arrived with tiny pink flowers which were really pretty. Sadly they all die after a couple of days in my tank and never cone again.

Its the first time for me as well. Now to see if I get a male flower !!!

I've been neglecting my tank in terms of fertlisation for a few months now. I'm not that scientific about it and go more by experience and gut feel. I normally dose with Leaf zone (a little over the recommended dosage), use root tabs every 4-5 mths (due for a change now) and have also used Pro-Aqua from Greenline. I also use DIY CO2 for a couple of weeks when I feel that the plants are looking lacklustre.

Interestingly, the Vallis flowered when I cleared up a lot of debris and overgrown plants and changed 50% of the water twice in 2 weeks, adding leaf zone with each water change.
