My 20gal high(really wish it was a long).

Substrate: pure laterite
CO2: pressurized about 30ppm
Ferts: (all liquid) nitrogen, phosphate, K, iron, and trace.
Lighting: Current satellite fixture, 1x55 watts PC, 6700k.
plants: Java moss, H. polysperma, Cabomba, H. corymbosa, H. difformis, pennywort, and one I don't know.
Fish: 2 corys, 1 albino koi swordtail, 1 female betta, 5 juvenile boeseami rainbows, and some cherry shrimp.

Substrate: sand from my sandbox
CO2: DIY yeast bottles, don't know how much
Ferts: (liquid) only nitrogen at the moment
Lighting: a wonderful Azoo fixture, 13watts, 7200k.
Plants:Cabomba, a plant I took from a planter outside, a plant I took from a vase in my kitchen, and two I don't know
Fish: my betta Montey
*Still in its early stages and is recovering from a outbreak of hair algae.*

I would like your opinions, criticism, and comments on my two tanks!

I agree. I've got a 20g high too, and though at first I really preferred a 20g long, I am enjoying the smaller footprint in this tank, as I can put it more places, and the lighting requirements aren't all that different.

FYI, the plant in the betta tank (large, green, heart-shaped leaves), the one from the planter, is a species of Pothos (Epipremnum aureum). A very hardy, tough houseplant that thrives in many different conditions. I often will have clippings emersed in water (to grow them out for planting and 'cause the plant can grow well that way), but I've never put it in a tank, though I always thought it would be great algae control for open-top tanks. :good: It consumes a lot of CO2 and has purifying capabilities. I may slap a sprig in my betta bowl and my 2.5g planted. The air plant/bromeliad is a nice touch as well. I have two of those on the lid of my betta's bowl.
