My Tank

Looks very neatly set up, cant wait to see some fish and decor in there! :shifty:

Where did you get that bubble thing from :D?

I got the air thingy from pets at home. It was £20.

I would like to stock the tank with:

Purple Emperor Tetra
corys
Gourami (gold or blue or pearl or a mixture)

I am open to suggestions and ideas. Since i took this video i have added more sand and 3 plants. Will get more plants and a rock in there soon.

If your going to get corries, do them justice and get a nice big shoal like 12 of them :D, and get all the same species

Looks nice.

I see you have a Hydor Ario 3 at a guess :)

Looks nice in the video. How easy was your Juwel filter to remove? I had a go at mine in my new 300 but it took 10mins to scrap/saw 1 blob of silicone so I just gave up and gonna leave it in there.

Looks good though.

Did you try sliding a surgical blade in there? Should be easy. If not, give it a year and it will pull away easily.

Martyn413, are you going to add a background?

Yeah I've got to hide the filter's pipes so i will be getting a background soon. If i see a good one i'll get it this weekend.

removal of the internal filter was stressful. My cousin removed it carefully with a few cheap stanley knives from the £1 shop. If i had know how much hassle it would be removing the filter i wouldn't have purchased this tank.

The cycle is taking ages which gives me time to decorate the tank. It will be worth the hard work in the end.

Thx for the nice comments.

I used a long, flexible saw blade *very hard work* where could I get a hold of a surgical blade, or is it the same thing as a stanl
ey knife? If so, the one we have isn't long enough :(

I do have some time to get it off, say a few months...

I was trying to think of a melting method but my dad said it wouldn't work :/

I would advise that you take care and time when removing the internal filter. Its stuck in so tight that any force could break the glass.

You need to get a knive that is thin enough to go behind the filter and strong enough to cut through the silicon glue. I had to move the knive back and forwards to cut it free.

Hi Everyone,

I've updated the tank a wee bit since.

Gonna get a background pic this weekend.

BTW the water stats have been weird.

I've not tested every day as the nitrite goes between 0.25 to 0 but i think this is due to nitrate being in my tap water.
Ammonia is 2 - 4
