I currently have

1 Fuzhong Warty newt, (getting second tomorra)
8 Guppies, (Letting the life out there lifes.)
2 Mollies, (if they breed, they breed.)
2 Cories, ( one is the longest restidents.)
1 ADF, (being moved.)
5 Danios, (2 Zebra's 3 Perls, balt today.)
2 Badis Badis, (maybe moved.)
3 Sarlett Badis, (erm)
1 female betta, (lovely girl)
1 Skunk, (my problem.)

It such a mix, but they all get on, apart from the Skunk Loach, he was got to keep the snail down in my fry tank, he been fine up to now, he now picking on anything he can, my LFS does'nt want to take any fish at the moment, (temprey I hope.) I have no where to put him at the moment unless, he can go in with my 2 Male Betta's witch I dout. So what to do with him, I guess there only one other chose   :-( :byebye:

surely there's not just the one LFS in your area! and no fellow TTF members...?

anyways, part of the problem is probably overcrowding. a 15g is simply not enough space for that many fish. crowded conditions regularly provoke aggression in normally passive species -- this is true for fish, mice, birds, etc. if you can rehome that skunk loach, you should also look into relocating some of your other fish as well.

what are you going to do with all those fry if your LFS has stopped taking fish? also, have you tried giving the fish away free? i've never had any trouble offering to trade fish at about a 5:1 ratio, myself.

Actualy your stocking wouldn't be bad if it were in a larger tank. Those fish do get along. The only one I would have picked as a concern (and which you confirm) is the skunk loach as they can be quite nasty - particularly if cramped in a small tank. Oh and I don't know about the newt and frog either :p Having said that, you realy need at least a 40 gallon to comfortably house all those fish.

It's a 15g, 2ft.

The situation, is there no other LFS in my area that will take fish, at the moment my normal LFS, has been having problems with people giving them sick fish. It a temp thing and they know me well so I have to nogsheate with them.

I know it's over stocked, it always overstocked yet my, water is always top, and normaly all the fish get on, this is the fist glich we had for LONG time.

what's your definition of a long time? a month, two months, 6 months, a year, two years? it can't be that long because you've even said that you just bought the danios (very active and nippy fish generally recommended to be kept in a 30). if nothing else, the danios have upset the balance of your tank that had been working for so long.

i find it quite interesting that you have badis badis -- i had consider getting some at one point, but didn't find them within the right timeframe. have you got any pics of them posted anywhere? i'd be really interested to see what they'd look like, especially the scarlet.

The frog will be moved, she going in with one of my male betta's. Maybe the Danio's where the rong ones to get, it was them Cherry barbs, or WCMM.

I not had a prob with any fish, for erm well since the tank was set up, about 2 years ago.

I have no pics of my scarletts, but see if I can root out my badis pic.

How big is your betta tank? You might be able to spread out the contents of the tank into that? If not maybe think about buying another cheap tank. There are a few fish shops in Wiltshire, a few Maidenhead Aquatics, and about 4 or 5 independent shops from what i have seen....

I don't understand why that is even considered an option. Just get another tank or a bigger tank or find a friend or post it online for sale or in your local new paper and if you absolutely can't do any of that hmm... I'd just bag it and get a friend to drop it on the counter of you lfs and run. That may be drastic and juvinile but it's better than killing your little buddy. :D I feel silly for even saying that. oh well.

the betta tank is a 12g, split into 3 section, been to every shop, with in an hour of salisbury, as far as I know non apart from the one I noramly take my fish to, will take fish on.

I can have a good chat with my normal LFS but, that won't be till next weekend now. I could put th skunk in the middle section, but that house's my black chinned Livebearer girls, and erm, he a (bleep) to catch.

god why I get myself in these situations.

Oh god no, I realy don't wanna go down that road at all.

as for another or larger tank, been trying to perswade my b/f for a LONNNGGGGGGGGGGGG time, for one. no go i', afraid. I even told him I'd sell both 2ft's for a 4ft, but no he says there no where it can go.

It's funny that you even ask him. My poor husband has little choice in tank decisions. I know my option is a bit extreme but if it's the only option to give the fish a chance at life then get on the rambo gear. :ninja:

Sadly if that happened I be homeless. Witch will mean my fish, dog and 4 ferrets will have no home's iver.

I know   but that the way it is here. I better off though now cos at home with my perents, I would only have the dog, so I better off now. I just said to my b/f about I'm serious about another/ larger tank, he said your joking, cos if I was't there be trouble. :(

dont even consider killing the skunk......bag it and drive to a lfs and when no one is looking down the loach in a tank ( with good tankmates) A little juvenile I know but I've done it before......maybe thats why I've been kicked out of 2 lfs LOL
