Hi,
I posted yesterday about finding my bristlenose and a cory dead and I said that all the water parameters were fine. However, I had only tested nitrItes, which were 0 and nitrAtes, which were also 0. When I found the cory though, I then tested the ammonia, which was about 1.5mg/l!
The thing is, i've had my tank for nearly a year and have never had any problems with the water since the beginning. We have changed the tank around recently though. We took out the smaller fish as the angels are growing fast and added the dwarfs and rams. We have put in loads of lava rock and used silicone and epoxy (fish safe apparantly) so i'm not sure if this would have caused the ammonia spike.
We did an immediate 40% water change and then a 20% this morning and theammonia is now down to about 0.25mg/l. I'm just really worried about losing any fish. See sig for tank spec. Any ideas anyone???
