ooo that looks cool Mark.. what lights are u using for that effect ( ie,spots,or LED strip)

i have some antic lights on my tank ( they came with the set up as it was once used for marine) .. but they look soooooo worng

shelagh xxxxx

its a little strip of blue led lights i got off ebay for about 99p.

that looks very nice. i've always liked that look, but i've wondered how good it is for the fish? can they sleep with that light on? i know my fish dont sleep until their light is off and my room light is off as well :look:

i had some once for one of my tanks, and after leaving it on all day and night, my fish became really aggressive. i only had guppies and mollies!

i eventually learned to turn off the day lights, then an hour or two after turn off the moonlights.

i also used the strips off ebay! bargain!

i have to get one of those for my tank. Currently i use a 10w light for my 'evening' light  but it sorta works well lol

how i do my lights is , ive got 2 tubes as the main light and the blue leds. duringh the day both tubes are on then in the evening i switch off 1 of the tubes a couple of hours after that i switch on the leds and turn off the other tube. then when i go to bed switch off the leds. in the morning i do the same process but in reverse. so that the level of light gradually fades then gradually gets stronger. it seems to work quite well.

I'm loking for the "moonlight" effect. I was looking at the Marina Hub LED lights but these "ebay" strips look interesting. How do they work exactly?

Thanks

its just a little strip of blue leds with a plug on the end . completely waterproof can be used either on top of tank or submerged

sorry couldnt tell you it was ages ago i got them. i think i just typed someting like blue led aquarium lights
