Sorry , I wasn't implying your fish needed to go into a 125 , just thought that was your eventual home for her , like I said , I keep 2 in a 30 gal , so a 30" tank should work fine , mine will eventually go to maybe a 55 , or 70 , but with other fish ..........I hardly see them

Well this 20gL (long) is 30" lol .

I had a fake cave in there, and I never saw much of her, so I bought a fake cypress stump from PetSmart..she hides in there now..and it has gaps in it where I can view her if I want too . They have a tall version (which I have) and a spread out version...if you have a 30" tank...you can have both in there, without it looking cramped up, so they wouldn't fight over a hidey "spot".

It is a featherfin.I have one and have HAD several.Mine is currently at approx 6 1/2 inches and mean as the devil. They often attack very large cichlids such as green terrors and they come out the winner.They will eat any fish small enough to fit into their mouths.They might not do it right away,they may wait a mnth,or two...and then one day you will wake up and not have a single fish left in the tank.They are very territorial and as they grow ,they get even more territorial and aggressive. Gorgeous fish...but a real b**ch.

beatiful fish. ive never seen one with spots like that. its definately a eupterous but i would just like to point out that ive seen those guys get bigger than 6 inches.probably more like 8. So i dont think a 20 long will be big enough for its whole life. if you can find a 55 id recommend buying one of those because they will provide good space for it and it wont be territorial enough to claim the whole tank

Well she's not "mean" persay..and lately she's been in a little more "mellow" mood then usual. The little UDC in there swims all over the bottom of the tank now..where it use to hide and never come out..and she hasn't bothered it, that I've seen, in quite a while.

I want a bigger tank, but only time will tell if I'm able to obtain and place one...not a whole lot of room to work with in my bedroom (and my mom says-no to a tank out in the house lol...she says they are messy, because of all the stuff that ties in to one.) I'm thinking if I do finally upgrade to a 55 that I'll have to empty the 20 and move my tv off my dresser, and put it there ....I think one day my mom is just going to come home and it'll already be there .


Personally...she doesn't seem to need the space she has now...She seems to prefer floating upside down under her "Stump" and rarely comes out...usually just when she's hungry..then it's right back under the stump.

well she doesnt really have that much space so you cant tell if she needs more. she wouldnt go flying all over full speed in a small tank. and they do get territorial which is bad in a small tank

Well I did some re-arranging of the tank and installed a new moonlight tonight..and while I was at it I decided to do a little "syno shoot" as well lol.

She was getting wild here..doing barrell rolls..just having a ole grand time...I wonder if she's been doing this while I'm alseep lol.

The baby UDC has decided to go back into hiding....but I finally got a few halfway decent snaps of him too...had him since Nov and just now got a pic of him lol..he's sneaky.
