My sweet little female platy

has become a "sweet little" male platy! He is still quite young....a couple of months. I thought my adult male was chasing him because he was wanting to mate. I'm guessing the little guy just took a little longer to mature. What a shocker! )

yes many livebearer males can take 2-4 month before they develop the male parts. It can be quite a shock when you invite someone over to see your female platy.

my fry are 1 month old and one of my fry has grown a little winky he must have had a godzilla of grow spurt

tstenback--the really sad thing is that her...old habits die hard...his siblings were already definitely male. We chose this one because it WAS a female! Oh well...ya live, ya learn.

Btw, now we have 2 male platies. No females at the moment. Will 2 males live together peacefully...without any females?

yes 50 male guppys can live with eachother without a single female because now the guppys havent got nothing to fight over
