My 20 gallon tank has got 3 stordtails and im hoping to make it a livebearer/community tank with
swordtails, platties, mollies, guppies, neons and cories
how does that sound?

My 10 gallon is currenty empty and i'm not sure what to do with it.
i was thinking bala sharks and loaches but they get kinda big
any ideas?

definatley not bala sharks they can grow to 13 inch and need a least a 75 gallon. I think loaches get to big as well.
community tank sounds good. How about some guppy for the 10g?

NO bala sharks lol
some loaches would be okay. hillstream or khuli are good for small tanks. Might try a male betta 6 White cloud mountain minnows and 2 african dwarf frogs. Or you could do a dwarf cichlid tank. Do research on anything you decide to do. I think the best Idea for the ten gallon would be to keep it empty to use as a quarantine tank or hospital tank.

Yeh i was thinking quarantine but it's hard to have it there all by itself empty so i was thinking of getting a 5 gallon for that (which i'd probably end up putting a betta in since im so addicted to fish ).
I also was thinking of dwarf chichlids.. they can double as fry controll if my livebearers go crazy.

well I have a half stocked 55 because I took in two of my sisters jellybeans. They are really cool fish but I want to finish stocking my 55 but my quarantine tank is occupied. =( think about it for a while first ok.

Well i have fry. I was able to capture 4 of them and put them in a container this morning. Seen as my fish were busy eating live breakfast, they didn't even bother with the flake food i gave them. When i came home i found 2 in the main tank zipping around, hiding. They seem to have grown alot and have a bit of colour. I couldn't get liquifry, i was only able to get discus fry pellets which seem to be bigger than the fry themselves. The fry in the container seem to be quite inactive, since there's no food small enough for them, but they are all still alive. i'm wondering if i should put them back into the main tank.

My male swordtail seem to be sick and is staying in a corner. I'm not sure if to move his, since my 10 gallon isn't cycled.

Help?

Oh BTW it's not ten gallons, is 1' X 1 X 2 so i'm not sure what that is. I just assumed ten since it looks roughly half the size of my 20.

Any ideas? I wanted an oppinion toinight, before it's too late.

try FINELY crushed flake food. also you can make infusoria. Do a search for +lettuce +infusoria. That may help. They will need a heated and filtered tank i think. Don't know what to tell you there.

I read somewhere that you should add a drop of mythelene blue to the water to prevent bacteria in the newborn fish, but now i a water cha ge wo see them more clearly and they are now about twice the size of moquito larvae. I can see their fins now. They just don't want to eat. The infusiora thing seems too complicated.

I'm not sure what to do about my sick male adult. I'm afraid i might lose him. I've had him for only a month.

Amazing how this thread changed from stocking options to fish 911. lol.
I'm guessing i'll keep the second tank as an emegency one. I just which i could divide it so i can rear fry in it and use it as a hospital at the same time.

infusoria is basically throw lettuce in cup of water put it in window sill in a couple days dump water in right? I told you to search cause I'm not positive but I didn't think it was complicated.

Not that it's hard work or anything but it's complicated in that it involves more than one step, and time to happen. lol. I read that it can be found in the sponge of the filter so i took out the spone in my filter an dripped it into the fry container. I'll still do the lettuce though.

EDIT: I put the sponge from my extra filter into my main tank's filter in hope of seeding it overnight to i can move my sick swordtail.
The fry seemed to crowd around the area where i dripped the filter sponge but i thinkc my imagination is overactive.
My snails have been in a one gallon container since i've been medicating my tank so they won't die and today was the first time i saw them eat floating food.

I would really like to keep an online journal of my tanks but they don't even have live plant or a nice decor and i my digital camera is stolen.

ok enough talking, goodnight!

1x1x2 is about 15 gallons. guppies normally have a short life span because of excessive inbreeding. i would stock that one and keep the 5 gallon as a emergency tank. khuli loaches
