I am in the process of converting my ten gallon tank into a small betta sorority. It already has 3 cherry barbs in it. I'm thinking of 2-4 bettas (haven't decided how many I want/need). I know they need lots of hiding places so i've been shifting and adding stuff slowly. I was thinking of adding some watersprite or wisteria in the back. There's a small jungle val in the back right corner that i'm hoping will grow to the top of the tank.

What do you think? Is it soroity functional? All comments and suggestions are welcome! :good:

With a group of girls you need a minimum of 3, but ideally no less than 5, they need to be able to create a pecking order but the more girls the more evened the aggression. You need loads of hiding places. If you can get some taller plants that would be good. Im not sure if the barbs are ok with bettas or not.

The bright gravel may aggitate the fish ( they could continuously be stressed out! )

The Vallis will usually only do well in hardwater setups ( while betta's prefer soft and slightly acidic water, but they can addapt very well to different conditions... )

Plus, the java fern at the front of the tank grows very well on bogwood/rocks... Simply tie to an object until it gets a firm hold!

Male betta's ( as I'm sure you know ) will rip each other a part when kept together... one male to two females...

Dont keep any males with any females unless you want to breed them
