Hi.. I have a small (30 litres) matured tank with 7 neon tetras, 1 corycatfish and 1 DWarf Gourami (Male) I am planning on adding a female gourami in the next few days when my LFS get one in. I was thinking of adding a male and a female ram in a few more weeks? is this a wise combination?? Any suggestions??

What filtration hav you got atm? Your tank seems pretty stocked with what you have, also, cory cats prefer being in groups of 6 or more like tetras, so it would be wise if you are going to get any fish, only getting some corys.

will

I have a 200 litre/ hour internal filter with spray bar.

i have one male bolivian ram. the female i bought with him died. but as soon as i got him some of the smaller fish like the neons, cardinals, and glo-lights started dissapearing, or i would find them dead.

Ohh dear!! That dosn't sound good! Has anyone else had a problem with Neon teras and Rams?

The tank seems fairly well stocked already. I wouldn't add a female gourami to such a small tank, there will be nowhere for her to get away if the male starts hassling her. Nor would I add the rams- they are very sensitive to water problems. If anything was to be added it should be a couple more corys of the same species as the one you've got.

+1 its already at its limits, adding more larger territorial fish will cause alot of problems.

I would say you have plenty of fish in there
I have 6 Neon tetras and 2 male rams and they are fine together but I do have a 150l tank and they have lots of places to hide, If anything it's my angelfish thata try to chase them

Ok great. Would the Dwarf Gourami and Rams get aggressive towards eachother?

Mine don't but it's again because of the space
I have 4 gourami's (2 male and 2 female) 2 male rams, 6 neon tetras, 3 platy's, 4 angelfish and 2 catfish

They all seem to have there their own territories but every now and again the neons are tormented so I just change the plants and rocks around and that soon solves it
