Hi, can someone help me with my blue ram. i came home today to find my ram sitting alone in the bottom corner of the tank. he appears to be gasping, is not eating and will not swim anywhere. am not sure about the ammonia, nitrate and ph levels as i have no way of testing. the tank is only 3 weeks old and is a 90litre tank. the tank mates are a green severum, blue dwarf gourami, 2 red dwarf gourami, a gold gourami and an oplanine gourami.

his gills look normal with no discolouration or excess mucous and he is not scratching on anything just sitting there on bottom.

thanks.

need to know water stats - ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH. How old is the tank? How big is the tank and what are the tank mates?

What color are the gills? Is there an excess of mucous on them? Has he been scratching on any objects?

As tttnjfttt says, you need to know all your water stats.

It does sound like new tank syndrome though, it's not surprising though, I would say too many fish too soon.

Rams are particularly sensitive to Nitrite and Nitrate.

Do a 50% water change ideally after check you tap water Nitrate and PH.

Hi, thanks for that. Can you tell me what the ideal rate at which to introduce fish to the tank, and do you think it is too late to save the ram.
