A few months ago several people were reporting sick dwarf gouramis, which consequently died. I was one of them, and I am happy to say that he is still alive!

I have him in his own tank, and feed him acriflavine medicated foods. I stopped it for a while, but noticed that he had a collapse and got his right eye affected. I think he lost his eyesight in that eye, since the iris is very small now, not like the other eye. The pimples never disappeared, but they do not seem to bother him. So I decided not to take anymore risks and keep giving him the medicated foods, with an occasional treat of vegetable or bloodworm. And he is doing well; he even grew! Something I cannot say from the other 2 dwarfs I have!

There is a massive amount of dodgy Dwarf Gouramis, all infected with this Dwarf Gourami Disease, its a reason atm why i wouldnt advise anyone to touch that particular fish with a barge pole, unless as mention by Neale that they are local bred or such.

Yes, me too. I feel kind of guilty, as I bought them before I got the good advice from you guys here! (I am currently working on the set-up of a 180 litre tank, in which they will be the main actors) I also know that here in Mexico we don't get imports from Asia. That might help too.
